Project Description

This blog is about a business venture about Rotary Engine vehicles in the start-up phase. The goal is to form an international, interdisciplinary institute for research, development, application and teaching on Wankel rotary engines vehicles that run on alternative fuel to push zero-emission vehicles.

Rotary Engines (RE) are smaller and offer higher power output; compared to normal piston engines. For hybrid cars the engine’s size, weight and overall package are crucial; RE become more appealing if less space is available. Beside cars also trucks, motorbikes, airplanes, boats and even light mobile stationary converters to create electricity are of interest.

Rotary Engine vehicles currently offer a huge a potential for improvements. With their advantages in mind, it is reasonable to expand research, development and teaching activities worldwide. Unfortunately, training and teaching on RE technology are hardly available for engineers, students or mechanics. There are many small companies spread all over the world that work on RE or have experience; but none of them is able to spend enough resources on research, development or training to solve current technical challenges, on its own. To lead to a quantum leap towards zero-emission vehicle, we need to connect and bundle our strengths for the common goal.

Rotary Engines that run with alternative fuels could solve many issues and are a good fit for progress towards zero-emission vehicles in a global perspective. When further progress is made in RE technology, e.g. engine design, use with hydrogen, exhaust and ignition systems, this will release the hidden true potential of Rotary Engines that run on alternative fuels. The traditional drawbacks of rotary engines will become their asset, soon.

The European cooperative society (SCE) REngineers will connect experts, firms and organizations from different fields to improve zero-emission technology and develop expertise for vehicles that use rotary engines. We promote global interdisciplinary cooperation, knowledge-transfer and solution-oriented discussion about technical challenges that are of social interest.

REngineers GmbH

The base of the company is in Tyrol, Austria. we have plenty of space for cars and staff, to educate people and promote rotary engine technology.

Currently the following cars are used for promotion, to educate mechanics and engineers and for driving seminars:

  • Mazda RX8 facelift, 2010, N/A, 231 hp
  • Mazda RX7 coupe 1986, N/A, 150 hp
  • Mazda RX7 conv. 1991, Turbo, 200 hp
  • Mazda RX7 conv. 1990, higly modified, 350 hp (street-legal!)

The headquarter is REngineers GmbH, Sonnfeld 2, 6345 Koessen (Kitzbühel area), Austria

  • research and education
  • software develoment
  • software and patent licensing

A smaller office and car garage is located nearby in  Sebi 5, 6342 Niederndorf (Kufstein area), Austria

  • trading and import of rotary engine vehicles; car dealership.

Webpage is currently under construction.
